Outdated Equipment

My friends and family know that I shave my head. They even may know that I shave once every two days. However, they do not know the secret weapon. They probably presume that I shave with a Bic. That presumption is an insult. That is like take your Bentley to a car wash and drying it with a cloth towel. You just do not do that. Instead, you shave with the superior equipment - the Mach 3.

Well, little did I know that I was living in the 90's. I was still working with the Pentium 1 chip when there now is technology that is 100 times faster. My mother in law received the new Gillette Fusion razor in the mail. She gave it to me because she likes my smooth head. Upon the first stroke across the dome, I fell in love. One, I felt deprived. I was working with inferior products. The Fusion cut my hair in half the strokes and left it smoother than a babies butt.

This Fusion is legit and I will recommend it to anybody. It is work the $24 for an eight pack of refill razors. Yes, it is that good. For this one time, I will accept the fact that I fell victim to direct mail advertising. The Fusion is for me and I believe it is for you. Go out and buy the Fusion.

Days of All Star weekend are over

I tried to watch the NBA All Star Saturday Competitions last night. I tried. I really did try, but it was so boring. First, it seems like the players do not care. I saw Lebron, Chris Paul, and Kobe Bryant maneuver through a skills course with no sense of urgency. Basically, they were too cool for school. I am sick and tired of this 'cool guy' act. They swear they are so important when in fact they are a bag of rocks. Conversing about any topic besides 'The technique of a jump shot' will completely lose them. Second, the competition rules are stupid. How many times do you have to see Nate Robinson miss a dunk? If you are a short arrogant punk who cannot dunk a ball after 10 attempts, then you do not deserve to be in the finals. Yes, it is impressive to see a 5'5" diminutive punk dunk, but it disgusts me that you pop your shirt and strut around after making one dunk. Three, most of the players are unknown and uneducated. If I have to hear another interview from a 21 year old college reject proclaim, "You know what I mean", I will shoot myself. It is a sad state that our profession sporting organizations have such educated people representing them as winners. They are not winners. They are dumb losers. Four, Diddy (aka Sean, puffy, P. Diddy, dumb ass) sitting front row yawning also disgusts me. When will this guy go away? Better yet, when will the public stop paying attention to this idiot? He is not that important.

Overall, the NBA All Star weekend is such a worthless spectacle. I remember when it was in San Francisco. Neal and I went out with these girls to the scene. What a false sense of importance these people have and what a classless bunch of hoochies that loiter half-dressed and fully make-uped.

I am done with this crap. I done with Stuart Scott and the Nate Robinson's popping their collars. I just hope I can stay strong when my kids start to idolize these idiots who have nothing more than drama and a bag of rocks to society. So Monkey, don't you ever dare to call me taking about Jacob Green winning the 3 point shot contest. I will drive straight to BK and give you a whooping.

Injections

This past Friday, the day of Katie and Noah's wedding, I gave my first intraoral injection. You may be thinking that a black man with a sharp object is deadly. Have no fear. I am a teddy bear.

On Saturday night, I won a scholarship from the local chapter of the National Dental Association. This is an organization of dentists the promote and encourage blacks and other non-white people in dentistry. It was quite an honor and I feel more than blessed.

In one week, I am going to North Carolina to scout out the state. We have an appointment with real estate people to see house and neighborhoods. We are making it a nice road trip with more of the time spent in Raleigh and the research triangle. Besides that, I am about 1/2 complete with the hardest semester of my dental school career.

Needle and a Clinic

The blessings continue to roll my way. Yesterday, I received my clinic assignment. The assignment is the actual dental clinic I will practice dentistry. I am assigned to a doctor who oversees my work and teaches me the ropes.

There were 3 things I wanted in a clinic. One, I wanted it to be small. I did not want to work in the main clinic because it is zoo and rather uncomfortable to practice or even be a patient in there. Two, I wanted to work with the computer program that manages the patients charts. Although there are different computer programs out there and I would have to eventually learn the new program, I still wanted to learn a basic operation process to document and manage patients charts on a computer. After all, it is the year 2007. Three, I wanted my vacation month to be July. I need to take my first Board exam at the end of the July. The time off will give me about 5 solid weeks of at least 12 hour study days to recall all the info I learned in the past 2 years of school. This are the only things that I wanted. It is more difficult than one may think because the school officials have an algorithm of their own and is difficult to decipher.

Well, the great news is that I got all three. So now I am a black man with a needle in a clinic. The world makes that seem backwards. Usually, they portray the black folk entering the clinic to receive the needle. The great news is that if you come to Penn Dental, a black man would be giving you a needle (Mark, save the joke). Even better news is if I did not have to. While I am grinding out the courses like never before in that dark tunnel, I finally see the light that will lead me out of this madness.
