This past weekend was fantanstic. I had the opportunity to travel to the North, with my new Brasileno amigos, pero I decided to stay in Salamanca. One, to save the money and two, I can see it when I begin to travel around Europe. I am glad I did not go because I experience something that I have never experienced before in my life. This unique experienced happened after my friend Jun, from Japon, and Flaviana, from Brasil escaped the mass of extranjeros Friday night. We went to a Salsa Bar and a nice little Jazz Bar. A tranquilo night we had in common because Jun, Flaviana, y Yo have 29, 28, and 27 years respectively. During this night, we spoke in only Spanish as we learned more about each other and the cultures of each. When I think about it, it is more amazing that 3 people from 3 different countries are commicating in a foriegn language from their mother tongue. While Jun cannot speak Inglis nor Portuguese, Flaviana cannot speak Japonese nor Inglis, and I cannot speak Japonese or Portuguese. Our only common language is Spanish. If the three of us never were able to speak Spanish, we would have never known each other. Quite unique and fascinating experience at the same time. This really makes me want to learn another language because I now know that when you speak more than one language the doors of the world open up to you.
