ANYONE STILL HERE?
So. Hi.
This is the deal.
Today is Siena's one month birthday. Holy crap, am I tired.
I've chosen to write despite the fact that much of the foregoing will make little sense due to sleeplessness and brain cell suckage via both boobs.
See?
I will go on.
Our baby girl was born April 10 after much hemming and hawing.
I was sorta pissed because my doctor wanted to induce and I would have prefered not to be. So I asked to wait to go into spontaneous labor.
It was not to be.
My amnio fluid levels charted low, so into the hospital I went.
After natural inducement methods (since I really really wanted to do this without an epidural), I had to go on Pitocin. Man, was I put out.
I'd heard about Pit. It brought on contractions like no one's business and had women begging for anesthesia. But my cervix was high and needed the Pit.
My memory kinda goes after that. I have brief flashes of sitting on the toilet, puke, blood on my socks and dripping mucous on Kev.
This makes no sense right?
I will go on.
I remember "Deal or No Deal" playing on the TV, I recall blinding pain like you couldn't even frickin' envision.
Then, a baby. At 10:21PM.
I did it.
No epidural.
8 lbs, 21 inches.
Maybe I'm not just tired.
Maybe I'm dead.
