ON IT GOES
My boss blurted out the other day, "You're so controlling!" and it really took me aback.
I hate to admit it, but I the truth hurts. This statement set me back days as I felt sorry for myself and licked my wounds.
Just one statement, but lo the havoc it wreaked.
It's harder to swallow given that my boss is prone to cutting her employees' spirits to wisps with inappropriate comments and low blows. Because you want to think that certain criticisms are unfounded and clearly the words of an insane and pragmatically inappropriate woman.
And though she doesn't filter her thoughts, there tends to be a bit of verisimilitude in everything she says.
It's physical pain nearly when someone characterizes you so bluntly. You know you tend to control -- surroundings, conversations -- but you don't really know 'til someone confirms it.
Of course my boss has also said I'm wishy washy and rigid. Which don't seem to be able to co-exist well in the same person....
But dammit, I know what she meant.

I could tell you I believe they exist, but that wouldnt be enough to prove that they do; that would merely be an expression of an encapsulated worldview (my own), not an objective observation of the world beyond my perception. I believe there are things that can and should be identified as wrong, in accordance with my views. But that does not necessarily mean they are so. In turn, that does not mean that I am bound to act as though they arent condemnable.

One also must note that the Personal PC began in 1981 and with it the democratizing of information within corporations away from mainframe computers. The advent of the Internet has only compounded this trend. Today it is collaboration and teamwork that wins not command and control.

One of my all-time favourite films is the one that took me the most times to watch without drifting off somewhere along the way LITTLE MURDERS. Although I dont think the final sense of achievement counts toward my high opinion of it.

Zieffs THE MAIN EVENT has interesting elements, and even the MY GIRL films contain faint traces of his 70s promise. A rather forgotten figure.

Although it is difficult to determine based on such limited information, Tammy may be anorexic, anemic, pregnant and/or really stressed out.As for Ben, that is a little harder. Flu like symptoms are common complaints for just about anything. Lupus could explain the majority of his ailments, except for the pins/needles sensation. Lyme disease maybe?

At a certain level, the game provides an excuse to get together, to form new social bonds and nurture faint or weak ones. Once strong enough, the game isnt needed as much, and as the bond transcends the game (just meaning, becomes OOC) other interests can be jointly explored; the game isnt needed if (once) the main motivation for logging on becomes the strong social bonds and not the already-mastered gameplay.

Good article Kieran. Didnt realise that the clubs are only allowed a maximum of 8 home grown players over 21. If thats the case it asks some interesting questions when we look at how many foreign players and under 21s we have as well as how many home-grown.

Actually Eric, the industry standard is a 95% confidenc interval, but the point stands. This was probably an outlier, or at least on the high end of the margin of error. Still, even after correcting for that, its a commanding lead.

Interesting and informative, although understandably dumbed down a bit, and inaccurate at times (see Mike Pukmels comment above). Also, the treatment of LTCM (Long Term Cap Mgmt) wasnt very accurate. The main cause of their failure was not equity options but their inability to meet the margin calls on widening Treasury spreads. A good source is Lowensteins book When Genius Failed.

While I agree with you that W was a fake conservative who surrounded himself with Neo-Cons who pulled the strings of his administration to the great detriment of the Republic, with all due respect to you, I believe that the Republican-controlled House and Senate of 2000-2006 cooked their own goose. The new Zune browser is surprisingly good, but not as good as the iPod's. It works well, but isn't as fast as Safari, and has a clunkier interface. If you occasionally plan on using the web browser that's not an issue, but if you're planning to browse the web alot from your PMP then the iPod's larger screen and better browser may be important.

That poll is not believable. For instance Coakley and Brown both had positive approval in the high 50s in rasmussens poll. Coakley is not under 40%.This sounds like a junk poll, I would say the race can go either way depending on turnout. I lived in Ma for years and they would never favor a republican by 15%.This poll could harm Brown and make his voters complacent, assume we are tied.
