Lately, I've been trying to divine a scientific explanation for my klutziness.
Being hypochondriachal, I've already explored ALS and Parkinson's and hope to rule all neuromuscular diseases out shortly.
Barring an organic cause, I'd really love to hit upon the why of my misguided steps and close encounters of the pointy-table-corner kind.
This week I've acculmulated at least two bruises (which I'm monitoring carefully should an errant blood clot traverse the spindly network of my femural artery and travel directly to the cerebral cortex), and a few scrapes or scratches. Plus a hangnail. The hangnail occurred in a bizarre paper-cutting flesh-eating accident.
I must have a type of narcolepsy where I temporarily black out when my brain has to choose between the option of (a) walking straight into a low-lying coffee table or file cabinet and (b) moving swiftly the hell out of the way.

i so feel you on this one. i currently have two mysterious bruises (one on each thigh!) and several bizarrely-gotten paper cuts. also yesterday, i managed to *throw* a half-full can of pop in the air while gesticulating wildly. luckily shirt absorbed most of the liquid. yay for boobies.

moreyhis 5.8 pts and 5.8 rebs in last years Finals are not good enough for a championship team. he NEVER averaged 10 rebs and only came close by getting 8.2 previously. And to say his offense in your statement Perkins made a huge difference on both ends is unbelievable considering his travels, inability to bring the ball up on lay-ups and constantly getting stripped because he would not play with the ball above his shoulders, as great centers do. I think that rather than writing for an international audience, we should follow Canadian practices and spelling if we are Canadian.I have many readers from the UK, as well at the US.I always write colour, and believe that it is my opportunity to educate my American readers. Licences exist in Canada, and license in the US. The Internet (yes, I capitalize that, too!) depends upon many Americans for things like spell check, but I refuse to change to adapt to an American spelling system.

There is one problem when Obama states that you will be able to keep the healthcare you have or purchase your own. When you are competing with the government , the private sector does not stand a chance. The gov will make the rules and call the shots. You are playing on their turf. Who do you think is going to win? When Obama was campaigning in California he stated that the factories in Pennsylvania could keep operating,but that he would just keep fining them and make it impossible for them to operate with a profit. I also noticed that Joan was watching The Patty Duke Show in her apartment. Excellent article, from one Melissa to another! I have never run a marathon, but I have found that different distances (Im running my first 10K in a week!) challenge my training. I know and can appreciate that I will not be the fastest 5K runner anytime soon, but youre right all runners can truly appreciate someone running that distance is just as much a runner as a marathoner. Distance-wise, my IT Band just cant handle a marathon, and Im okay with that. Im just happy to be running again! Thanks for a great article and some much-needed perspective for both runners and non-runners alike.
