I am a hypochondriac.
I always have been, and at times it is amusing...but most of the time it is serious business.
I have annoyed friends, family, and spouse with this condition often.
At the moment, I feel I am incubating the Hanta Virus.
Last Thursday, Kevin and I opened up a box we'd had in the garage and Kevin mildly commented, "I wonder if these are mouse droppings?" whilst peering into the box's depths. Sure enough, that is exactly what the black death worms were...
I immediately refused to touch any of the boxes' contents since all self-respecting hypos know: mouse droppings can carry the dreaded Hanta Virus.
Annoyed, he continued to hand me things from the black box for me to unwrap, which I did reluctantly, while my unease grew second by second.
Soon, I retreated to the garage to get some dust masks which Kev uses for work. He was very irritated with my supposed over-reaction, but still donned the mask (in the back of his mind, I know he harbored Hanta fear as well).
Meanwhile, the mouse's fecal pellets were flying willy-nilly as Kevin drew objects out of the box. Then, we notice a dead beetle, which to some may just be a dead beetle, but which to me, was solid proof that the Hanta Virus lurked in the box and had surely zapped the crap out of this poor beetle.
So, now it is Monday, and since Hanta symptoms don't show until about Day 7 (after exposure), I am sure I will start exhibiting muscle aches, fever, and subsequent respitory failure in just a few days.
I really am worried. Like, for real. If anybody knows a doctor who is trained in treating the Hanta Virus, and if I do fall ill this week, fly him to San Diego to look after me (I'll pay you back or those who've survived me will). I don't like what I've seen in the local doctors since I've lived here, so I'd feel better with someone who knows what they're doing. The survival rate for HV is 43%, so I may have a chance.
Other illnesses I've obsessed over include:
hepatitis C, multiple sclerosis, colorectal cancer, brain tumors, pulmonary embolisms, arachnid hematomas, enlarged heart.
I may be a mentally ill idiot, but at least I'm educated.

I think this is only because of the skewed Christian definition of morality; the idea that, if I cant prove it to someone, it must be useless; I have a lot of beliefs that I will defend if pressed, but I cant confirm them to be objectively true (i.e. I like certain music). Does that mean they are meaningless? Does that mean I have no basis for my claim? No, of course not; it just means that you might not agree with my claim. Am I obligated to respect your opinion, should you disagree, in that I am obligated to acknowledge it as a valid opinion? Of course not, although in that particular case I probably would (because the result is insignificant to me). But on a matter such as, say, murder.I dont see what the problem is here. There are reasons to say that murder should not be allowed, and a large amount of them can be concluded without inferring a religious deity.

Tim, you should qualify that this refers to SOME Christians. Not all Christians can be tarred with the same bigoted brush. My mother is a Christian, but would never stand in the way of an inter-racial couple marrying, or a gay couple marrying [She differed with my father on the latter issue]. My constant worry about offending God is an offshoot of the anxiety and demoralization of being unable to finish college. There I kept busy and felt productive. So focusing on how God is my mighty fortress and that Christ is more than enough for me to please Him because I am washed clean in His blood is helping me bit by bit to focus more on Christ than the anxious feelings. Because Ive been physically idle for so long I get bolts of adrenaline that can lead to panic as I move, which before this study Ive interpreted as a sure sign that I was doing something wrong or the feeling wouldnt be there. But now my eyes are focusing on Christ. Its an ongoing battle but I know Who my victor is!

People tend to view successful business owners as being lucky and that is so NOT true, it is a long road and a lot of work. I have a Mac and use the latest version of Firefox. I want the download window to stop popping up every time i save like a picture or something. For instance when i save a picture i see in firefox, the download window pops up saying what i've downloaded and stuff. Libertarian/Conservative is the IDEAL CANDIDATE for 2010/2012. One can argue about the exact specifics but a candidate who lives in this comfort zone (HONESTLY !!) is almost a lock for election in this environment.

To be honest, kinda going along with some of the other people here, I dont think that unless we see or hear achange in the rhetoric, there shouldnt be anything of note regarding Legends 3 as a possibility. The thing that Im thinking about is despite their financial weakening state, wouldnt something like Legends 3 not cost as much as people would think? I mean lets make it run smoothly of course, but does it need OMG super polished graphics? The cost of older technologies would be a lot cheaper and they could still deliver a quality game that could wrap up the series. I mean hell they could make it a d/l over any online network system like they did with MM9 and I dont think the overall cost would be as high. That being said it really moves back to the point that Forci said. That one or the other is lying and until one I guesschanges a stance or says something thats not in-line with the consistent rhetoric. I dont think its news-worthy to post about :/.

Judging by what happened to Flo, the dehydration/heat stroke beast can sneak up on you. Now I dont feel so dorky for taking a bottle along for group runs even when my buddies go without. I also tank up by drinking maybe 20oz before I set out. I dont handle heat well, but Ive managed to avoid dehydration to date (so far as I know). Would absence of new sweat be a reliable early sign, I wonder?
